Bogense, Denmark – 26 to 28 May 2006
X-43 and X-37 1st and 2nd overall
The overall victory of the Fyn Cup belonged to the X-43 “Stony V” skippered by Steen Toftebjerg, with the assistance of René Villefrance from North Sails. Second was the X-37 “Hansen” owned by J. Hansen, who had recently traded in his X-332 for the X-37 – a step he certainly did not regret.
The fleet consisted of more than 300 yachts – including 48 X-Yachts. The participants had gathered in the Bogense marina to take part in the Fyn Cup, a race of 138 Nm. The race started out in a fresh westerly wind and finished in a southerly breeze, which made it hard for the last competitors to reach the finishing line. The fastest yacht completed the race in 19 hours 37 min and the last yacht took 41 hours and 19 minutes.
Nine 1st out of thirteen possible
The cup was a great success for X-Yachts. Apart from being first and second overall, X-Yachts competed in 13 different classes and came first in 9 of these classes.
