Experienced Structural Engineer with Small Craft Background
An opportunity to join the UK design team; the successful applicant will be working in new yacht structures.
X-Yachts’ design team is looking for a Naval Architect/Engineer to work in the UK branch. You will be a member of an enthusiastic team working on new yacht development. The position available is for an experienced engineer responsible for structural design and analysis.
Our expectations
- Education in Engineering/Naval Architecture. YPD, Ship Science or similar.
- Minimum 5 yrs design office experience preferably with production small craft.
- Experience with GRP small craft structures, knowledge of the ISO and ABS rules.
- Must be AutoCAD proficient. Experience in parametric 3D modelling is preferable (We use Unigraphics NX).
- Attention to detail and a practical approach to problem solving.
- Knowledge of yachts and sailing is a ‘must’. Preferably you are a keen sailor like most of the members of the team.
- Occasional travel to our Danish site may be required.

X-Yachts’ design team is looking for a Design Engineer to work in the UK branch. You will be a member of an enthusiastic team working in close cooperation on all aspects of yacht development. The position available will mainly involve the design and detailing of large moulded parts, hull detailing, deck design, Structural interior linings.
There will be opportunities to get involved in other areas of general design as and when the development schedule allows.
Our expectations
- Education in Design Engineering/Small Craft Design or similar.
- Experience in parametric 3D modelling is essential (We use Unigraphics NX).
- Minimum 3 yrs design office experience.
- Must be AutoCAD proficient.
- Attention to detail and a practical approach to problem solving.
- Experience with designs in materials such as wood, GRP, steel and aluminium.
- Knowledge of yachts and sailing is a ‘must’. Preferably you are a keen sailor like most of the members of the team.
- Applicants from other industries (e.g. automotive) will be considered if they can demonstrate transferable skills and knowledge of sailing as above.
- Occasional travel to our Danish site.
