Owner's Comments

We had previously owned an X-412 and wanted a more spacious performance cruiser to enjoy sailing further afield with our two teenage sons and their friends. An X-46 is a boat in which you can cover long distances quickly in a lot of comfort. We have cruised in Southern Ireland, Brittany many times, the Atlantic coast of France, Northern Spain and Galicia and into the Western Mediterranean.

The X-46 inspires confidence in her ability to sail well in light winds as well as in the heaviest conditions. She has never disappointed us. We occasionally raced in family oriented events and the boat is equipped to meet Offshore Special Regulations Category 3 with an additional bilge pump and a separate mast track for the storm trysail.

On deck, the sail locker provides ample space to stow the spinnakers and the inflatable dinghy.

The powered halyard winch makes light work of mainsail handling. We have a cockpit tent which our children and their friends enjoyed using throughout the season.

Below, the modern galley layout makes it possible for the cook to be involved in the conversations around the saloon table. The ample chart table provides a space for the navigator to plan the next day’s trip. The fridge capacity is enormous and was necessary to feed our teenage family. The microwave is a luxury but does produce excellent porridge on cold mornings.

We are sad to be saying goodbye to a boat which has delivered such fantastic memories but we have bought another X-Yacht and one is enough!
