Friday 9th March 2018

The 10th edition of the RORC Caribbean 600 was the fastest and toughest race in the history of the Caribbean 600 mile classic: High seas and strong wind characterized the race in 2018. Of 84 boats, less than half have finished the race course.

The Xp 50 ‘NORXL NOR 15500’ with a mixed crew from Germany, members from X-Yachts Switzerland, Great Britain, and Scotland had  successfully sailed in as 7. place in IRC-1 and 27th boat overall. They were happy to have sailed without injured or serious material damages. After 3 days and 9 hours they arrived safely in Antigua.

Within the near future, the Xp 50 NorXl starts again in Antigua at the Sailing-Week, and afterwards she will come back to Europe for the Middle Sea Race.

About the boat, Eugen Munz, co-skipper and tactician says:

The Xp 50 as the second largest model of the Xp line proved to be the ideal yacht for all the tactical chosen courses, and she offered reliable and secure basis each time. The Xp 50 provided the crew a safe steering and controlled helming in every condition and also in top speed“.
