The Xc 45 was the first model in the Xcruising range to be launched, and was named European Yacht of the Year in 2009. She was praised for her combination of cruising comfort, performance under sail and responsive handling. As with the Xc 50 which followed the Xc 45, the Xc 45 incorporates the X-Yachts steel hull/keel girder for strength and resistance to grounding, with deck and sail layouts designed for ease of handling, when sailing two-up.
We got extensive feedback from a large group of Xc owners, as well as our own experience over the last 10 years. Therefore, in 2019 we saw the launch of the ‘X-Yachts 40 Years Anniversary’ edition of the Xc 45. The ‘Anniversary’ edition of the Xc 45 builds upon the success of the Xcruising range, with an updated specification implementing improvements from feedback, gathered from a fleet of over 300 Xc yachts worldwide.
From this edition of the Xc 45 and onwards, the Xc models are built using epoxy infusion in the hull. X-Yachts hulls are post-cured or “oven-baked” to improve structural properties of the composite. Epoxy resin has higher mechanical and thermal stability than traditional polyester resins. Added value to this production method is weight reduction.
Exterior upgrades include new optional jib self-tacker design, composite bowsprit and new colourways.
Interior upgrades include Nordic oak furniture and new upholstery types, cushion design and new interior fittings throughout.
Systems upgrade highlights include new tank displays, showing remaining volume in litres and upgraded ambient lighting.
X-Yachts has developed an online web-configurator for the Xc 45 enabling you to design your own version of the luxury yacht. Configure your own dreams.
With the Xc 45, you have many options to customize your X-Yacht and fulfill your dreams, including teak or Flexiteek on side deck and coach roof.
Functionality is key with small details, such as the option to store the liferaft below the cockpit floor when in the marina.
The bathing platform can be operated either electronically, but opened mechanically in emergency.
In true X-Yachts style, all the halyards pass below the deck surface and are stored in the cockpit floor self draining bin.
On the upgraded version, there will be additional space for electronic equipment on the companionway. There will be an option for compasses on each of the pedestals.
On the Xc 45 anniversary edition, a new cockpit table design has been invented.
The large bathing platform is operated by a purchase block system. Below deck storage for a liferaft is accessed from the bathing platform.
The cockpit table with central storage and handrail with drink holders. Optional chart plotter and autopilot control can be fitted into the aft end of the table.
Split mainsheet passes below deck on both sides and is led back to the aftmost cockpit winches. Optional vacuum applied teak on the coachroof.
Stainless steel self-tailing Andersen Winches, which can be upgraded to be electrical powered are part of Xc 45s comprehensive standard quality.
The high quality galley has also been updated, with space for optional appliances, such as a Nespresso machine, microwave and top-loading deep freezer, automatic soft-closure drawers, and specially designed refuse storage. Corian worktops and a toughened glass splashback are fitted as standard.
The saloon now features a larger table, restyled cushions for improved comfort, and integral book cases for storage. There is a choice of interior finishes, including black or white Corian worktops, maple or striped holly floorboards, and fabric or microfibre upholstery in modern colourways.
Quarter sawn high quality wooden veneers, lightly sanded and varnished, from Italian suppliers. As standard furniture is built in Nordic Oak offering a light modern look. More traditional teak is also available.

The worktop is made of an advanced composite of natural minerals and pure acrylic polymer which creates a stone-hard, luxurious surface.

MK II modellen zijn vaak marketing tools om dezelfde boot terug in de markt te plaatsen. Toen X-Yachts in 2007 plots de kaart trok van de nieuwe Cruising line in 2007 keken heel wat one-designzeilers en de winnende performance zeilers erg verbaasd op. De Xc 42 en de Xc 45 bleken echter absolute trendsetters die nu, acht jaar later, een update kregen.
