XR 41 Takes the ORC Worlds by Storm
Double Podium for X-Yachts in Class B
August 16, 2025 | Tallinn, Estonia
The Garmin ORC World Championship 2025 has come to a spectacular close in Tallinn, Estonia — and the results speak for themselves. The XR 41 and FORMULA X have delivered on a bold ambition set just 18 months ago: to build a boat capable of winning at the highest level.
Not only did FORMULA X, skippered by Jesper Radich, take the overall win in Class B — the XR 41 also secured second place with DIXI 5, helmed by Erik Stannow, and fourth with EXCITER, sailed by Jens Kuphal. A dominant performance in a world-class fleet of 22 entries.
With three XR 41s in the top four, the message is clear: X-Yachts builds winners.
- says CEO Kræn B. Nielsen.This isn’t just a championship title — it’s the confirmation of a vision,
“We set out to build a boat that could win the ORC Worlds. And we delivered.”
With the title clinched even before the final race, the result reflects a powerful combination of smart sailing (rather: smart sailing), crew work, and a design that has proven itself in all conditions — especially downwind, where the XR 41 consistently outpaced the fleet.

From Vision to Victory
Eighteen months ago, X-Yachts set a bold goal: to build a new race yacht capable of winning the ORC Worlds. That journey — from concept to water to world champion — is now complete.
“Every detail in the XR 41 — every hour spent on development, construction, and testing — led us to this result,” says Kræn.
This title belongs to the sailors, the design team, the production crew, and every X-Yachts employee.
With four XR 41s entered, three finishing in the top four, and FORMULA X sealing the championship before the final race, one thing is clear: the XR 41 is a proven winner — and a signal of a new era in pure performance.
Strong X-Fleet in Class C
In Class C, a competitive fleet of 34 yachts included seven X-Yachts models, with strong showings throughout the series. Represented were:

While the XR 41 performance in Class B drew headlines, the consistent presence of X models in Class C underlines the enduring competitiveness and versatility of X-Yachts designs.
