Owner's Comments

After a season of a lot of sailing on Dutch waters and crossings to the UK and Ireland, we have to let go of our beautiful XP-44: DNX. She s given the name DNX (from DNA) as sailing runs in the family but also X-Yachts. My father owned an X-612 which we sailed all over Europe.

So many smiles on board on whatever trip or race we did, the DNX is flawless, very fast and stable. Easy to sail double handed with furling jib, furling code zero and furling flying jib. The mainsail is simple to handle as well with the electric which and excellent lazy jack boomcover. Upwind you can almost keep up with pure racing boats of the same size in speed and height, downwind she is very controlled and light on the rudder and yes fast as well. The beauty of this boat is her agility and performance all in a luxury package. Sailing 7 knots in 6 knots of wind is no exception. As a dinghy sailor myself you sometimes forget you’re on a yacht instead of a laser…

The quality of X-yachts is renowned and the DNX is no exception, we haven’t had a single failure on board and she is as good as new. The boat is in the harbour less than 3 minutes from our house, which allowed me to give her a lot of care, maintaining everything to the last single component on board (perhaps a bit too much…). Unfortunately working life of both our full time jobs and three active teenagers has caught up on us. We will take care of her to the last day, but have decided to prioritise the needs of the family now. The DNX deserves a new passionate owner who will continue to enjoy the smiles she brings you (passing everybody cruising or racing) on any water you wish to take her, she is ready!
