CroatiaTruly unique Xc 50 with the seaworthy lay-out of the owner's cabin, boasting an off-side bed situated further aft and providing access from the interior into the large sail cabin in the bow.
Extensively prepared for ocean crossings, including a lot of preventive maintenance/replacement of key features, proper washing machine space, and much more.
Located in Benicarlo on the Spanish coast, she is already placed conveniently for embarking on a voyage around the Mediterranean or outof Gibraltar and onto the Atlantic Ocean.
We have bought "axiom" to fulfill our dream of exploring the Mediterranean and sail across the Atlantic Ocean with her. We have reached into the Spanish waters now, enjoying this boat's performance anc omfort both at sea and while at anchor or in the marina. Sadly circumstances currently prevent us from sailing across the Atlantic, but we feel this boat deserves a new owner who has a similar dream as ours.
In the winter of 2023 we started the preparation in earnest, and continues this into 2024, performing the following refit:
- standing rigging on mast, all new rod 2024
- new upholstery in interior 2024
- new owner's mattress in forward cabin 2024
- 8x AGM batteries (total 536 Ah @ 24V) placed 2024
- new sprayhood (2024)
- new Jefa lower rudder bearing including housing
- new steering cables for both wheels
- varnishing of the pantry
- 2x new faucets at sink for freshwater and sea water
- 4x new bronze seacocks and 2x new through hull fittings, all other seacocks inspected
- new fresh water pump
- new shower sump pump
- new hot water container
- conversion of port side heads into a storage room with washing machine (can be made original again if wanted)
- new mirrors in owner's bathroom
- new navigation lights including those in the mast
- 2x hatches replaced (1 in saloon, 1 in owner's cabin)
- new stainless steel protection on transom door
- several minor repairs done on teak deck to keep that maintained in good shape
- new mast steps on mast
- new VHF antenna in mast
- all lifelines replaced
axiom is ready to cast off and be enjoyed by her new owners, who will hopefully appreciate her as much as we do.
