I was fortunate enough to be able to have Excalibur built to my specification and could therefore include all the equipment I wanted for long distance cruising. I chose an Xc 42 because I wanted a solid sea worthy boat that was fast through the water . I have not once been disappointed with Excalibur . I spent four seasons exploring Denmark ,and Sweden and whilst there she was stored in a heated shed through the winter months. COVID unfortunately meant she was laid up in the shed for 18 months so when I was able to relaunch I decided to embark on a real adventure , taking Excalibur up the Norwegian west coast and into the arctic circle . The build quality and sea worthiness of the boat was truly tested but each time I just became more confident in the boat.
It is now time for me to reduce the time I spend on the water , I will be sad to part with Excalibur but I am sure somebody out there will look after her as I have done and she will look after them.
