Owner's Comments

We have always admired the Xc range of X-Yacht ever since we first saw them at the Southampton Boat Show. Their balance of sailing performance, elegant but modern lines, robust steel frame construction, luxury and comfort were particularly compelling, particularly when supported by the well-established brand. We also love the teak decks! When we bought ‘Kailani’ we invested in a full upgrade programme to include Furlerboom and new mainsail, new standing rod rigging, new seacocks & skin fittings, solar and more. This gave our family peace of mind that she was capable of dealing with anything, and she has not disappointed. She is so satisfying to sail and means we enjoy sailing even when the wind is light, rather than having to turn on the engine. The Furlerboom has been a revelation for ease of handling both in terms of safe reefing from the cockpit as well as general ease of sail management at the end of a day’s sailing. We often receive compliments on the beauty of the boat from onlookers when arriving into new marinas and ports.

For our first season we sailed the Channel Islands and South West of England but we soon felt the draw of warmer climes and so had her transported by ship to Corfu where we enjoyed a season in the Ionian followed by another in the Aegean. As a family of five, we feel she is perfectly well proportioned - enough room to stretch but not too large to feel unmanageable; always solid, stiff and a joy to sail. Her large cockpit with twin wheels and electric lowering transom has been wonderful for our Mediterranean swimming and lazy days at anchor. She has been professionally maintained by X-Yachts throughout our ownership with no expense spared. We have no doubts that she will be a wonderful boat for her next lucky owners!
